First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TruStage.
Operations Manager
The first interview was with the talent acquisitionist. They were really nice and shared a lot about the company. They asked general questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and then some more specific questions related to the job.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What makes you a good fit for this position?
Specialist
The interview process was very formal and corporate. The HR team was great, responsive, and clear. The first round was a video recording, which might be more efficient for some on the TruStage side, but it's a hassle for interviewees without a professional space. It's a neat concept, but an audio-only option would be much more considerate. Sterling, the external vendor for background checks, is terrible. Their record-keeping is so bad that when they need more info, it's not passed around their team. This means they might come back with the same issue multiple times, which is confusing and stressful.
- Can you explain why you are a strong candidate for this role?
Marketing Specialist
After an initial interview with the hiring manager, I had a panel interview with three current employees. The panel interview felt awkward because the panelists weren't prepared and there were long silences where they seemed unsure of what to ask, making me feel like I had to carry the conversation. The hiring manager didn't reply to my emails and didn't let me know when someone else got an offer. An HR rep apologized for this, saying the hiring manager was supposed to contact me.
- The questions asked were very formulaic.
Financial Analyst
We started with an HR screening to get a sense of who you are, how your experience aligns from your point of view, and if the manager would be a good fit. Then, there was a Teams interview with the manager. We reviewed your resume to confirm your experience matches the role. Following that, we asked several behavioral questions to assess your personality fit within the company. The final stage involved three separate 30-minute Teams interviews with potential team members. Again, we discussed your experience and asked behavioral questions. About 2.5 weeks after the last interview, the offer letter was extended.
- Could you elaborate on your experience?
- How does your background align with the requirements of this role?
- Do you believe your personality is a good match for our company?
