TRUMPF Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was quite disappointing. They scheduled two one-hour interviews, but the first one lasted only about 45 minutes and covered the basic questions. The second interview was at their 3PL facility, a 30-minute drive from their HQ. This interview was supposed to be an hour, but the manager was 10 minutes late, and the interview itself was only about 10 minutes long. The manager mostly talked about the job's difficulty and lack of support, which was fine as I'm used to working independently. Then, the manager rushed the interview and ended it abruptly, without giving me a chance to ask any questions. I followed up with HR a week later, and then again two weeks after that, but received no response. It felt like they already had a candidate picked for the role.

The interview started on time with a friendly recruiter who introduced the company. Then, the hiring manager asked specific questions about my technical skills and experience, which I answered with examples from past projects. I also asked questions about company culture and growth opportunities, which were answered. The interview ended positively with a promise of feedback, but I later received a rejection email.

The application process was well-structured. It began with an initial online chat with a recruiter in Ditzingen and my potential manager. This was followed by an in-person meeting with an external HR representative and my potential manager again. The second meeting allowed plenty of time to address all outstanding queries and get to know the location better through an informative tour. Throughout the entire hiring journey, short timelines and quick, firm feedback were maintained. The process itself was very transparent, and I felt well-guided. Everyone involved conducted the discussions with great appreciation and professionalism, creating a particularly pleasant atmosphere for the interviews. It was noteworthy how the company not only sought ideal conditions for themselves but also showed interest from the start in ensuring my satisfaction as a potential employee and taking my needs seriously. Had an initial chat with the group lead about general stuff, the background of Huettinger in the TRUMPF group, and so on. It was about 30-45 minutes. Then, a technical discussion with the group lead and the technical manager about my previous work and knowledge, lasting about 45 minutes. After that, an on-site presentation day, which was about 5 hours total. Before this day, I was given a task about a technical problem and had to prepare a presentation for it. The day itself consisted of several meetings with HR, the group lead, the team, and development management in various combinations.
