Behavioral Other

The first interview with HR was in a great atmosphere. Typical questions for a first meeting were asked, along with a detailed explanation of the role. It lasted about 30 minutes. The second interview was with the manager, also in a calm and quiet setting. It lasted about 50 minutes and included questions about my motivation, a short task related to the role, and a conversation about my previous work experiences. The whole selection process was quick and efficient, with timely feedback after each interview.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online and heard back from HR to schedule a first call. They were really nice and told me what the job was about and answered my questions. After we both agreed to move forward, I had more interviews with the hiring manager and their boss. I liked that they were clear about what they expected and also listened to my background to see if we would be a good fit. It was a good experience overall, and they kept me updated on the timeline, which was great.

Behavioral Technical Case

I first read the job description, then sent in my CV, portfolio, cover letter, and answered some extra questions like why I wanted to work at Tiqets. After that, I got an email and had my first interview with an HR executive. Then, I was given a two-part assignment. Once I finished that, the HR person said the team liked my work and gave me a third assignment. They liked that one too, and I had a second interview with the team. The whole thing took over a month. In the end, they rejected me because I didn't have much data analysis knowledge. The feedback was 'the team has reservations about your data analysis skills.' What was frustrating is that data analysis was never mentioned at any point during the process – not in the job description, not in the first interview, and not in any of the assignments. They could have easily brought it up or made an assignment for it. It feels like they don't care how much time a candidate puts in, and their hiring process is pretty bad.

Technical Behavioral

Since the HR person was out of town, I first interviewed with the engineering manager. It went really well, and they followed up saying they enjoyed our chat and that I passed the technical part. A few days later, HR scheduled a call. The HR rep asked some super basic questions, like about where I'd want to live if I moved, the kind of stuff that doesn't even need notes, and she didn't take any. That call was also positive and wrapped up quickly, maybe 5 minutes. Right after, I got another email from her asking my age, which is 27. A few days after that, I received a rejection email. I suspect they thought I was too old for a mid-level software engineering role.
