Data Governance Analyst
I found the job on LinkedIn and applied on the company's website. The whole interview process took about a month. It was a mix of team and in-person interviews, with some technical questions, a PowerPoint presentation, and a final chat with the senior leaders. The recruiters kept me in the loop the whole time and were quick to answer my questions, so that was great. I got the offer, and onboarding was super smooth, setting me up to start just two weeks later. Really good experience overall.
- Tell me about your technical expertise in Data Governance.
- What is your understanding of AA as a company?
Bid Manager
I saw the job on LinkedIn and got a call from a recruiter. We chatted about the job, and they asked me to come to Basingstoke for an interview with my future manager and the person doing the job now. They asked me competency questions and to get to know me, it was pretty chill. A few days later, I had another interview, this time on Teams with the MD. They wanted me to go through my CV and talk about my experience, then asked some scenario questions. A few days after that, they called to offer me the job. Salary and benefits were sorted out fast. The recruiter lived near me, so they called me to chat about the commute, which was a nice touch. The whole thing was professional but relaxed and smooth.
- Could you tell us about your current bid governance processes?
- How do you approach managing and reviewing content for bids?
- What are your current success rates in bidding?
Scrum Master/Agile Coach
So this was one of the worst interview experiences ever. First I had an initial chat, then I moved to a stage with the hiring manager where I was asked technical questions and did great. Next I had another interview with the Head of Product and someone else. They told me I did well but chose someone else, no clear reason given. Then unexpectedly, they called me again, saying they messed up and apologized for not giving me the role. A 12-month fixed-term contract opened up, and they asked if I was interested. I said I preferred permanent but would consider the contract since I was recently made redundant. The HR person seemed okay and said they would schedule another second-stage interview. I was confused why I had to repeat the whole process but went along. This time I met a Product Owner and a Business Analyst. The questions were super basic, like almost too easy, but then they used the same excuse and didn't offer me the role. Looking back, I should have told them off for wasting my time when they knew they didn't really want to hire me. Never applying there again.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult stakeholder.
Digital Acquisition Manager
Got contacted on Linkedin and applied through the company website. First spoke with the hiring manager, then had a task. The task was a bit difficult because you needed beta app access, which was hard to get without being an existing AA customer with a car. Even after asking the recruiter, I only got screenshots. When I presented the task, the first question was about not having app access, and they were surprised I finished it without knowing the actual user experience. Also, they didn't mention salary or benefits, which was supposed to be one of the last steps. Everyone was nice, but the hiring process needs work.
- Tell me about an A/B test where the outcome was unexpected for you.
- Why weren't you able to access the app?
