The interview process felt very rigid and divided. I interviewed for a role that I was overqualified for, and when I tried to ask about the (Sr.) Molecular RA role I had applied to, they dismissed the question without any discussion. It seems their screening criteria are fundamentally flawed because they couldn't see that my experience was equivalent. This led to them offering an interview for a "Tech 1" trainee position at $23.25/hr, which is usually for new grads with a B.S. degree. This is wildly inappropriate, considering I have a Master's degree and 3 years of work experience.

Behavioral Presentation

I had a really disorganized interview process. It started with an HR email, but the recruiter didn't even show up. After a few days of no contact, I was losing interest. Then, the hiring manager called, liked my resume, and we had a good phone chat. A week later, I checked in, and they thought I wasn't interested because I didn't follow up quickly. We both agreed to move on, and then I spoke with the regional manager. This interview was an hour of them just complaining about the industry and the job. It felt like a scare tactic, not something that would make anyone excited. After that, I got an email for a final interview, which was basically homework: a role-play and a presentation on why I'm the right candidate. I felt good after that interview, put in a lot of effort, and was told I'd hear back the next week. A week passed, no word, so I followed up. They said they'd call the following week. Three weeks later, still nothing. It's strange they wouldn't at least send a rejection notice after all that. It was a really bad experience, and I wouldn't want to work for a company that handles hiring this way. I'm not usually one to complain, but this was a waste of time.

The interview process was really misleading and disappointing. I had a phone screening, then an interview with the hiring manager, and finally a panel interview. It all happened really fast, within about a week. They moved me through the stages QUICKLY. The people I spoke with were nice, and I felt I was well qualified. But then, after just a week, I got a generic rejection email. The recruiter didn't even bother to message me personally after wasting my time and rushing me. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism. Plus, they ignored me when I asked for feedback on why I wasn't chosen.

The whole interview process was conducted online. It wasn't overly difficult, which makes me wonder why I didn't get the job. They asked very few questions directly about genetics, focusing more on HR-related topics and my CV/curation experience. Any genetics-specific questions were part of the take-home test. The recruiter was responsive via email and provided weekly updates. The process included an initial email, a phone screening, a take-home test, scheduling the interviews, the interviews themselves, another update, and finally the result. Each stage took about a week, so the entire process lasted approximately 6 weeks.
