I received an initial email from the recruiter, which led to a screening call. Then, there was a hiring manager interview, but it was unfortunately canceled on the day of. They did reschedule it though, and it went fine. The hiring manager was nice.

The interview process began typically with an initial conversation with HR. Following that 30-minute chat, I was informed I'd proceed. The subsequent stage involved a take-home assignment where I worked with a dataset, explored it, and submitted my findings. After my work was evaluated, I received positive feedback and was invited to the next phase. However, that's when things went downhill. I shared my availability for the following week, but received no communication. I reached out again with my availability for the subsequent two weeks, still no response. A final follow-up two weeks later also yielded nothing. I was effectively ghosted after they expressed interest in my project results. This happened about three months ago and was quite discouraging, significantly impacting my view of the company. I learned from a recruiter that this kind of communication breakdown isn't uncommon at Tempus. My advice to others interviewing with them is to accept any other offer you receive. They don't seem to prioritize their hiring process, and I regret not taking other opportunities while waiting for them. It's evident the company's true priorities lie elsewhere despite their stated mission.

The first few interviews were pretty chill and easygoing. Then I had a take home test that was pretty tough. After that, I interviewed with some of the employees there and they hit me with some really hard technical questions, touching on biology and how I'd tackle some computer science problems. The team seemed cool, but super intense. My biggest issue was how slow the whole process was, taking months, but I guess that was due to Covid.
