Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tempus AI.
Operations Manager
I've interviewed with Tempus a few times. Each time I got great feedback from the interviewers, but then there was weeks of silence and no offer. Tempus really needs to get better at communicating with candidates, to match their actual hiring pace. Don't waste your time with them or let them use you while they figure things out. The interviews themselves were pretty easy and straightforward, and I enjoyed talking with everyone.
- What makes you want to work for Tempus?
Supervisor
The interview process was held virtually. It started with a phone screen, and then two days later, I had a virtual interview through Google Meets. I was interviewed by five staff members who were friendly, engaging, and professional.
- Can you describe your leadership experience?
- How do you approach conflict management?
- What is your educational background?
Operations Manager
The interview process was not necessarily bad or difficult. It started with a recruiter screening, followed by a couple of interviews with the hiring manager and other various team members. The final interview was a panel format, which the director was on, but I am not sure if that is always the case. Overall, I would not recommend candidates waste their time with Tempus AI. I have nothing against the work or mission, but companies that treat their candidates poorly do not deserve high quality candidates. Let me start by saying that this company is completely unprofessional in their communication. This interview is actually the second time I have interviewed with this company and both times I was 'ghosted' without a follow up or rejection. The first time was after the recruiter screening, which was very positive and the recruiter said he would like to advance me to the next round. Never heard from him again. The second time, I made it to what I believe was the final round (a panel interview) and never heard from them again. I had to give up multiple hours for all of the interviews, not to mention the prep and time in between interviews, and they did not even have the decency to send a simple rejection letter. I have no doubt that this company is doing great things, hence why I looked past the first time being 'ghosted' and applied again. But their HR/people operations team needs serious help. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful to candidates' time.
- Can you share an instance where a project you were managing encountered problems, and describe your approach to rectifying the situation?
