Solutions Engineer
The interview featured straightforward questions that can be deceptively simple and easy to overcomplicate when stressed. The interviewer was primarily interested in understanding my approach to solving problems.
- Can you share an instance where your integrity was challenged?
Services Technician
It was all done online. The initial questionnaire was straightforward, asking for full resume details, job descriptions, and references. I got an email to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was fine, but they stressed the need for really fast internet and a powerful computer processor, meaning a regular laptop probably won't cut it unless it's a high-end gaming one. You also need a wired headset. I was given 14 days to get the necessary equipment upgrades before I had to call back and accept the job. I also have to show proof of my internet speed.
- Is your internet connection fast?
Services Technician
I applied online and then we scheduled a phone interview. I got an email asking me to prove my computer meets their needs by sending screenshots of speedtest.net and a picture of my computer using Speccy. They called at the scheduled time for a 30-minute chat. My interviewer was really nice, we joked around a lot. They asked me a mix of customer service and tech questions. I haven't heard back yet since the interview was today.
- What's your understanding of home security?
- Tell me about the very first piece of technology you ever used.
- What's one piece of tech you absolutely need?
Remote Services Technician
My friend sent me the link for the job, so I applied online for the Remote Services Technician role. I created an account and filled in all my education and work history. After submitting, I had a technical test covering basic computer knowledge and interpreting two flow diagrams with questions. It was easy and I had 23 minutes to finish. Once I passed, I got to pick my interview date and time. The interview itself was on the phone and took about 45 minutes. At the end, they said I didn't quite fit their current needs but asked if I'd be interested in upskilling if they hired me. They also mentioned they had enough information for now and would reach out about next steps if I moved forward. The interviewer was really nice, and overall, it went well.
- What makes you want to apply for an online job?
- Using notepad, list two websites that can test internet speed and system specs. (Note: They will test your system thoroughly and ask for a screenshot of the specs later).
- Do you have prior experience in customer service?
