I had a one on one interview with the head of the department. He came across as a bit of a narcissist and thought quite highly of himself. Early on, he kept cutting me off when I was speaking, which made me feel like he wanted to dominate the conversation. I've always felt interviews should be more of a back-and-forth. Another thing that struck me was when I was sharing an example of a difficult situation I'd dealt with, and he made a rather harsh comment about firing someone if that happened at his company. It made me question the kind of work culture he'd foster, firing people over minor mistakes. He also spent a good amount of time speaking negatively about the person currently in the role, calling him weird and other things. The interview also involved a lot of nitpicking, so I was quite relieved when it was over. I'm glad I had the chance to meet him and see this before accepting a position, as working under him would have been a nightmare.

Horrible interview, they were super condescending about my experience the whole hour. They kept pushing me on what work I did even though I repeated myself multiple times. They basically didn't believe the work I had done and implied my experience wasn't actually mine. They interrupted and talked over me a bunch. It's like they forgot an interview is a two-way street and that people are also interviewing them and the company. Really shows what their management and culture must be like. I would never work here. Be careful if you apply here and believe the reviews. Wouldn't recommend anyone apply after this awful experience.
