I applied on their company website and had to wait a week before I called the store to see where I was in the application process. We scheduled a day and time for the interview. The interview process was pretty simple and straightforward. I felt comfortable and welcomed. They asked some basic questions to see if my skills were a good fit for the job. The interview lasted about 15-20 minutes.
- Describe a situation where you had to handle an angry customer. What steps did you take?
- What's your favorite food? Could you persuade me to buy it?
- Would you feel comfortable asking customers to complete online surveys?
Stocker
The manager made it seem like working at sprouts is a really tough job. He kept cutting me off when I was trying to answer his questions. The manager, who was 5'5, seemed really insecure and intimidated by me being 6 ft. All I wanted was the job to meet women.
- Tell me why you want to work for Sprouts Farmers Market and what you know about our company's values and mission.
- Can you walk me through your previous experience in retail or customer service and explain how it has prepared you for this role at Sprouts?
- How do you make customer service a priority in your daily tasks, and can you give me an example of a time you went the extra mile for a customer?
Assistant Store Manager
I applied through my college because it was campus recruiting. The recruiter was unprofessional and rude from the beginning. She sighed every time I answered a question and had a negative attitude. I've never had a recruiter be so disrespectful. I found the interaction offensive and felt embarrassed for the company. Basic respect is key in recruiting. I ended the interview and withdrew my application due to the bad experience. I will also no longer be a customer and will tell others not to work here. The last-minute call showed a lack of respect for my time. The interview made it seem like she was trying to make me dislike the company. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.
- How would you handle prioritizing when faced with multiple tasks?
Assistant Manager
I hope Sprouts sees this. Another person wrote a similar review about a particular recruiter exhibiting unprofessional behavior- I unfortunately had to interact with that said person too. So please take this additional review seriously. This was the same person who is based in Phoenix doing campus recruiting for college students. I have their name and wish I could put it to warn other college students against applying to post-grad opportunities here (atleast store manager roles). She was incredibly rude. Honestly, I'm shocked. I have never interacted with such an unprepared, unprofessional, flat out rude recruiter. It seemed like she was reading off a script, spoke a mile a minute when explaining the program without giving me the chance to respond, was very very condescending when answering my questions, sighed constantly, and brought such a bad negative energy to an interview that for the first time- I rescinded an application. It made me want to never apply to a role at Sprouts again. For this reason, I'll say it was a difficult interview. It's hard to remain enthusiastic when a recruiter is actively sighing while you're speaking.
- Tell me about your leadership and management abilities.
