First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sprouts Farmers Market.
Assistant Store Manager
I applied through my college because it was campus recruiting. The recruiter was unprofessional and rude from the beginning. She sighed every time I answered a question and had a negative attitude. I've never had a recruiter be so disrespectful. I found the interaction offensive and felt embarrassed for the company. Basic respect is key in recruiting. I ended the interview and withdrew my application due to the bad experience. I will also no longer be a customer and will tell others not to work here. The last-minute call showed a lack of respect for my time. The interview made it seem like she was trying to make me dislike the company. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.
- How would you handle prioritizing when faced with multiple tasks?
Assistant Store Manager
I didn't check prior reviews, but my experience interviewing for this job was the same as others. I spoke with the same person from Phoenix, and it was truly the most uncomfortable and worst interview I've ever had. My answer to the first "tell me about yourself" was met with a condescending tone and a sigh that made me doubt my qualifications. I was feeling confident before this because I thought I had the qualifications and experience for the role. I never expected my confidence to be shattered so fast. She then read from a long script detailing things like working 50+ hours a week and occasionally driving 40-50 miles. There were awkward silences during the call because I didn't know what to say without her becoming defensive. Honestly, after the first question, I didn't want the job anymore and I don't plan to explore other opportunities with this company now.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
Store Manager
First, I met with a Talent Specialist. Then, I had an interview with the Regional Manager and about half of the department managers at the regional level, like deli, meat, and produce managers. The interview process involved an initial one-on-one with Talent, followed by an in-store interview with both Talent and Operations personnel.
- Can you tell me about your experience managing a store?
- What's your background in running a deli operation?
- Describe your experience managing a meat operation.
