First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sprouts Farmers Market.
Administrative Coordinator
The interview process was quick, it took place in a general seating area, which made it comfortable. The supervisor was polite and thanked me for coming in. We spoke for about 10-15 minutes.
- Can you share a time you disagreed with a supervisor and how you handled that situation?
Administrative Coordinator
Applied and got an email to schedule a phone interview quickly. On the day of, got a call asking for yes/no verification of background, work history, etc. Then asked for my two best traits for the job, and then they just said they'd be in touch if interested and hung up. It was super short, like 4 minutes. Then got another call from a recruiter to set up an in-person interview for a 'Mass Hiring Event,' which sounded like another big, impersonal interview session. The next week, went to a hotel for the interviews. It was in a small ballroom, with two guys at a desk in the corner just staring as you waited after checking in. I was seated in a row and could basically see someone else's interview because their table was so close, which was really awkward. The two guys at the desk were yelling comments across the room to the woman who was going to interview me. She was then told my resume and the job title, 'Admin Coordinator,' and the person at the door said I'd take other random jobs too, even though that wasn't even asked. The main interview itself went pretty well, and the woman was easy to talk to. The kicker was finding out that day there were online management interviews happening, and the next day was for internal interviews. Why waste someone's time interviewing if you're already considering internal management candidates? I really think Sprouts needs to rethink how they're hiring and I wouldn't recommend interviewing with them.
- What are your two top traits for the job you're applying to?
- What are two skills that relate to the role you applied to?
Administrative Coordinator
I got an email asking me to come to a mass hiring event. I thought this was a little strange for a full-time administrative role, but I attended anyway.
- What knowledge do you have about Sprouts?
- Can you describe a time you had to learn a new system or software from scratch?
