I was reached out to by the internal TA on LinkedIn and we scheduled a video interview. Everything seemed good and it was promising. We concluded by saying 'I will let you know by mid week next week either way.' After that, there was no response. Please make sure to inform candidates either way, especially after they've spent an hour learning about your company and showing their skills and expertise. It's a two-way street. Candidates are also interviewing you and you want to make a good impression, which didn't happen this time.

I recently interviewed with Spiff and had a really good experience. The whole thing was smooth and everyone was super friendly. It started with an intro call with HR where they asked me about myself and I learned more about Spiff. Then I talked with the engineering team. We chatted about my background and I answered some technical and situational questions. It was a good vibe. The next part was a live coding exercise. They had me set up an environment beforehand, and then in the interview, I got a problem to solve and had to explain my approach. This was to check my problem-solving skills. Lastly, I met with HR again to talk about the offer and ask any questions I had. Overall, Spiff's interview process was solid and let me show what I can do and meet people.

I initially interviewed with Spiff back in November 2021 as they were gearing up for their 2022 busy season. The interview itself went really well, but they mentioned I should brush up on some technical skills and that we could reconnect after their busy season concluded. I got back in touch once things had calmed down on both ends, and we resumed the interview process. We spent a lot of time discussing my previous role and my problem-solving methodologies. They really dug into my ability to articulate my job with a high level of specificity. Finally, they asked me to complete a technical assessment, which involved Excel logic. After I submitted that, they extended a job offer.

The process was very fast. I had an initial HR screening on Monday and then got a link for a one-way interview within an hour. This interview is unique because you're given prompts and record your responses, which was convenient for my schedule. The final interview was a week later, followed by an offer soon after. It was the fastest process I've experienced. Although the one-way interview allowed unlimited thinking time and retakes, which seems good, it actually led to spending more time than necessary. Having time limits for thinking and retakes, like in a real interview, would establish more realistic expectations for everyone.
