The interviewer mentioned their recruiter had recently left and they were a leader I would have met in round two. So, my experience might not be typical, but it was a really nice chat that felt very natural and comfortable. We talked about what this role needed to solve and how I'd tackle it given my background. They ended up saying I was a better fit for another role they planned to hire for soon. Sadly, after a couple of weeks of no contact, I found out the second position wasn't opening anymore. While it wasn't the outcome I hoped for, I thought the interview itself was a good experience, and I appreciated getting a personal response instead of a generic rejection email. I'd still be interested in other roles at Signpost if they come up, based on this interaction.

The interview was pretty easy and straightforward, although the recruiter giving me the interview did not seem engaged. Surprising that that is her job yet she didn't really display much enthusiasm and it was obvious her answers were rehearsed. She also asked me upfront what I wanted my salary to be, which I didn't think was appropriate. I thought I answered the questions well and she said she would get back to me within 24 hours. It has been two weeks now and I have not received any sort of response, which is ridiculous considering they reached out to me first. This extremely unprofessional, especially with everything going on right now due to COVID-19. Don't be surprised if you end up wasting your time on an interview and don't hear back from them.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The whole process took about two weeks. I applied online and then had a phone interview a few days later. The next part was an in-person interview with two different managers, where I also had to do some cold calling. I really liked how easy it was to connect with the managers; it felt more like a chat than an interrogation. The cold calling part is pretty straightforward! It’s a good way to see if you’re comfortable with it. A manager will be watching, so just stick to the script and stay calm. You also get a feel for how laid-back, comfortable, and energetic the office is, which I loved! The week after that was the final in-person interview. I had to prepare a mock sales pitch using a slideshow to present to the Sales Director. If you prepare enough, it's a breeze. I actually found the mock pitch easier than the interview with the Sales Director. They were all business and asked really detailed questions about my education and work history, going all the way back to high school. I highly recommend practicing your answers so you feel confident. It’s definitely a bit nerve-wracking, but my biggest tip is to let your personality show and be confident. They're really looking for the right fit for the company, and that could be you! Good luck!
