I applied on December 22, 2024, and had an initial recruiter call in FEB 2024 which didn't lead anywhere. They reached out again in late March, and the process began. There were four rounds: two technical, one that combined technical, functional, and fitment, and a final HR discussion. The first technical round was with the Engineering Manager on April 25 (rescheduled twice from April 9) and lasted 90 minutes, focusing on DSA and System Design via Teams. The second round on May 6 was with the Director of Architecture, scheduled for 45 minutes but ran for 1h15m, involving a deep dive into current project architecture and System Design, with a brief 5-minute face-to-face meeting on May 12. The third round on May 12 was with the SVP Engineering, lasting an hour (scheduled for 30 min), delving into current project architecture, my responsibilities, potential fit for an Architect role (despite applying for Senior Architect), and compensation. This was face-to-face at the SHL office. Immediately following was the fourth round with the Recruitment HR Head, discussing the interview process, role understanding, and current compensation details. They asked for a week to deliberate, but I never heard back and didn't follow up. My impression is they liked my profile but had budget constraints, especially after my compensation discussion. The overall experience with the interviewers and recruiters was very positive, professional, and thorough, though the process itself was quite slow.

I had a screening call with HR, then they sent me a psychometric test. After I finished it, there was a long period where HR didn't reply to anything. Three weeks later, HR called saying I was shortlisted for round two, an interview with a peer. After that, another week went by with no HR response. Then HR called saying I passed and would get a case study for a panel interview, but they didn't give dates. I got the case study eventually, but the info was vague and late. I tried to get clarification from HR by email and calls but got nothing. So I decided to pull out of the process.

Behavioral Technical

I was initially skeptical and not that interested, but the first recruiter made an effort to ensure the minimum salary could be met, so I proceeded. The Line Manager was new and well-intentioned, though they acknowledged several issues. The final interview with the UK leader was the real challenge. They were poorly presented, argumentative, uninspiring, and seemed to view themselves as a business legend. This left a very bad impression, showing a totally disconnected recruitment process. If you desperately need a job and have no other options, maybe try them, but otherwise, I'd advise against it.
