I applied for the job through Glassdoor and after checking reviews got a better sense of what Ariba does. I submitted my resume and heard back about two weeks later. I was scheduled for three phone interviews but only ended up having two, each about 30 minutes long. The first was with the Intern Program Coordinator who asked conceptual/cultural questions, and the second was with my hiring manager who asked task-based questions related to my schoolwork and experience. These calls were two days apart, on a Wednesday and Friday. After the calls, I was told I'd be notified about the internship. I followed up two weeks later and about a week after that, I got a call from HR offering me the internship. Some people I know who interned here had a quicker process.

Technical Behavioral

It was a pathetic experience. The interviewer just seemed to want to show off his knowledge, and the questions were too specific to rare technologies. He was rude and acted insane, making me want to leave. The interview lasted 2 hours. He clearly wasn't trained on how to interview or evaluate candidates. He couldn't explain requirements well and only wanted answers he already knew. He wouldn't accept better approaches, which suggests he's not open to feedback and just memorizes things. He definitely needs soft skills training. I was told they might consider me for Senior Software Engineer, not Principal, so I declined. I wouldn't have joined anyway after this first interview. The HR person, though, was good.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was contacted by a recruiter after a referral and made it clear about the jobs I was interested in. The recruiter sent me to the wrong interview, which surprised the panel. We still went through with it since many questions and role-playing scenarios were relevant. I was invited back for the correct interview, which went well according to two interviewers. However, the follow-up wasn't as promised. I had to email the recruiter nine days later to ask about the decision and was informed via email from someone else that a 'better match' was found. Timelines were missed, and blame was shifted. I then applied to SAP and was contacted again by the same recruiter who messed things up again by missing a scheduled phone call with no explanation or apology. If this were the customer experience, it wouldn't be recommended.

Applied through SAP India careers and got a call from recruitment within a week. First telephonic round was with QA manager, focused on QA/Testing processes, lasted 45 mins. Got positive feedback and HR from Ariba was to get in touch for next round. Second telephonic round was scheduled in the same week, entirely on SAP SD knowledge, lasted 30 mins. Cleared this too and interviewer was positive about onboarding. HR called again and arranged for an in-person interview at Bangalore office. In-person was supposed to be 3 rounds: QA Manager, VP & HR. Due to VP unavailability, only QA Manager and HR rounds happened, lasting 2.5 hrs. In HR round, confirmed I cleared all technical rounds. Next step is background verification (2 weeks). After that, HR will get back for documents to release offer letter. A week later, HR called saying they are interviewing other candidates and will update me. On asking, HR told me they finalized a different candidate. From Glassdoor reviews, I already knew Ariba, Bangalore is unorganized. The manager talking about adding 20 people to the team made me feel it's fast-paced hiring. I guess HR confirmed a consultancy candidate for commissions.
