There was no feedback after the first interview, and it felt like the interviewer wasn't prepared for me and the interview was rushed. I emailed the HR person two weeks later to check in but still haven't heard back. It was unprofessional and really demotivating, especially since I took the time to apply and get ready for this interview with a big international company like Saipem.

So, how it went was pretty much as expected. I felt confident in my answers. They want you to say what you know and be honest. The process involved asking some questions, like telling them about yourself briefly, and understanding the question properly before answering. It's important not to try and manage answers for questions you don't know.

Behavioral Technical

There was a quick introductory call, then a meet-and-greet and technical interview with HR, an engineer, and the manager. The people were very approachable, the atmosphere was relaxed, and they seemed open. They asked about my background and technical skills. A classic STAR question was asked. No details about the contract or salary were discussed, and unfortunately, I never heard back from them.

First, there's a get-to-know-you chat with HR where they explain the job. Then, a video interview where you talk about yourself and answer about 6 questions. After that, a group interview where you tackle a problem together (with some aptitude tests thrown in). Finally, a technical interview with the bosses about a technical issue. The whole thing takes about a month and a half.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you describe a PFD involving a distillation column?
  • What are your thoughts on NPSH and pump curves?
  • How do you relate flow rate and pipe diameter?
