The interview experience was great. There were two rounds total, but they were combined into a single session. The first part focused on my working expectations to see if I'd be a good fit for the team. The second part involved some technical questions, mainly around the OSI model, to check my understanding of the role.

So first I applied online, then they called me for a phone screen to see if I was available and met the basic requirements. After that, I went in for an in-person panel interview. I met with HR and a department manager. We talked a lot about how I communicate, my past customer service jobs, and how I solve problems. They also wanted to know how I deal with stress, if I'm a team player, and what I know about Safaricom’s stuff. It all felt pretty organized and clear.

The interview process is pretty involved and technical for what I thought was an entry-level role. I get wanting to really check out candidates, but the difficulty level might really scare off new grads or people just starting their careers. It almost makes you think the job isn't as open as it sounds. Maybe a mix of technical stuff with some problem-solving or just seeing potential would be better and more welcoming for people new to the field.

I went through a coding test for a technical interview. It was pretty well done and made me think. The test had coding problems, both algorithmic and practical, that fit the job. I liked how clear the instructions were and that the time was fair, letting me show how I write good, fast, and maintainable code. It also showed how I solve problems and use best practices when I'm timed. Overall, it was good and I learned what the company expects and what technical stuff they care about.
