The interview was pretty standard and went smoothly. The person interviewing me was really experienced and made it feel comfortable, like we were just chatting naturally instead of a formal interview. It was easy to talk about my background. Overall, it was a good experience, and the interviewer was nice, professional, and easy to get along with.
- Can you share an instance of collaborating in a team with diverse viewpoints?
Financial Modeler
The role had a 2 stage process. They asked competency and technical questions. There wasn't an HR person to talk to, and booking interviews was all automated. All interviews were on Teams. It was a bizarre interview, as they are fleshing out the team and didn't seem to know what they were looking for or what they wanted.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Could you share an example of a large business case project you've worked on?
- Can you describe a time you engaged with senior stakeholders across the business and how you approached them?
Postperson With Driving
The in-person interview was pretty simple. They gave me some questions beforehand, which helped me get ready. They asked me typical questions about whether I was a good fit for the job, and it felt professional and respectful. They gave me a verbal offer right then, saying a written one would come after a background check (which I've got a clean record for). But after that, the communication from HR was really spotty. I had to reach out a bunch of times for updates, and their answers got more and more unclear, mentioning delays because of things related to the job opening. After nearly three months of chasing them, and with some messages not even getting a reply, I finally got an automated message saying the job was off. The interview part was good, but not following through and the bad communication afterwards was a real letdown and made me feel bad about the whole thing.
- Could you give me some current examples, from work or your free time, that show you're physically fit and have the stamina needed for this job?
Postal Worker
There were three interviewers on the panel, and we did a short aptitude test, plus they looked over my CV. It was all very professional, as you'd expect. The whole thing took about 40 minutes. Most of the questions were about my attitude to punctuality and doing long hours or working away from the office. They also asked a couple of scenario-based questions about handling tricky customers. Overall, it was a pretty straightforward interview, and the people were nice.
- What would you do if you mistakenly delivered the wrong package and a furious customer confronted you on the street?
