I made it to the second stage of the interview process for a Service Manager role, but then experienced a significant delay in receiving feedback. The interview was on December 1st, 2021, and I didn't get any outcome or feedback from the recruiter, AMS - True Workforce Dexterity, until January 12th, 2022. This was after I repeatedly contacted the recruiter via phone calls and sent direct emails to the hiring manager. Each time I reached out, I felt I was being brushed off and left uncertain about my application status. The recruiter claimed they had sent an email and left a voicemail, but I never received either, nor did I have any missed calls. I found this to be quite poor customer service, especially considering I had progressed to the second stage. They mentioned they emailed me through their system and left a VM.

The hiring process was quite drawn out, taking a long time from when I applied to when the interview actually happened. It was rescheduled twice, which isn't great for a private sector role, as people might get tired of waiting or find something else. They flew in a manager from London to oversee things on the interview day, which felt like a bit of a waste. The two interviewers I had seemed unprofessional. One got upset when I asked about the depot's culture, and the other couldn't even answer a basic question. Honestly, neither seemed fit to be interviewing candidates. If I had been offered the job, I would have declined. And paying for my own tea? Not a good look. Royal Mail's recruitment methods feel really old-fashioned, and the staff were unprofessional. I was promised feedback after the interview, but never received any, even after asking a second time.

I had a conference meeting with 6 people in a boardroom at their office in Old Street London. Then I met with 2 future colleagues who told me what it would be like to work there. After that, I had a meeting with my potential manager who explained the job to me.
