Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Royal Mail.
Software Engineer
The interview went pretty well, but I gotta say, the job was advertised as a developer role, which it wasn't. It was more like a manager position, they wanted someone to oversee a team of developers spread across different offices. But the pay was more like for a developer, not a manager.
- How would you handle conflicts within a team you are managing?
Software Engineer
The process involved a recruiter call and a technical screen. They wanted to understand how I work within a team, as well as my ability to work independently on demanding tasks. They also asked about my previous roles and work experience.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join this company?
- Could you describe your collaborative approach in a team setting?
- How effective are you at managing tasks independently?
Software Engineer
The interview was pretty chill. They asked some basic questions about my previous experience and what I'd be doing in the job. It went on for over an hour, but that's just because it felt like a real conversation.
- Could you share some of your past experiences that would be relevant and beneficial for this position?
