Behavioral Technical Presentation

After clearing the initial selection, I moved to stage 2, which involved a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) followed by a video interview. The SJT presented scenarios where I had to pick the most effective to the most counterproductive option from four choices, taking about 45 minutes for 24 scenarios. The video interview was a new experience for me and I was a bit nervous since I couldn't find much info beforehand! It required Microsoft Edge, as my Firefox kept crashing. There was one practice question before starting the actual interview. I was given four questions, with one minute to prepare and write down my answer, which remained visible during the recording. It wasn't a live interaction, just me speaking into the webcam. The challenging part was the two-minute maximum time limit to answer each question. A countdown clock added pressure, and the camera would shut down right at the two-minute mark. My advice is to practice answering within the two-minute deadline.

Technical Behavioral Presentation Case

The interview process started with an online quiz focused on management scenarios and decision-making, followed by a one-way video interview. In the video interview, there was a practice question, and then candidates proceeded to answer actual questions. Each question was presented, with a 30-second preparation window before a 2-minute answer period. It would have been helpful to have a personal timer as there was no on-screen countdown. The in-person interview in Swindon comprised three sections: a standard interview, a presentation, and a role-play exercise, all conducted by other operational/regional managers.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • The operations manager asked standard competency-based questions, such as hypothetical "what would you do if..." scenarios and requests for examples of past experiences like "give me an example of when..."
  • I was asked to prepare a presentation within 45 minutes on how I would fix a poorly performing depot (experiencing issues with delivery times, damages, customer service, and new staff) by proposing solutions for the short, medium, and long term.
  • The final part of the assessment involved a 45-minute preparation period to get ready for a meeting with the union rep about implementing new working practices and hours.
