The interview process was really drawn out, which made me think they weren't sure what they wanted or if they really wanted to hire someone with my experience. It was frustrating to be in the process for months and then not see a clear decision. It makes you wonder if the company is really on the same page and if they're organized well. It can also turn off good candidates. It makes it seem like they're not decisive and don't have a strong culture.

My interview process was actually pretty smooth. I was first contacted by an HR Manager on LinkedIn. Then I had a chat with an HR employee, followed by an interview with that same HR Manager. After I was accepted, I was shown a list of clients and got to pick which ones I wanted to interview with to see if I’d be a good fit for their projects. I passed on the first client but interviewed with the second, and that’s the one I ended up working with for 3 years.

Had an initial call with a recruiter, then a zoom with the hiring manager, followed by a zoom with the creative director. There weren't a lot of technical questions, the interviews were mainly about team/culture fit, which I liked. Everything went well, and the creative director seemed to like me and thought I'd be a good fit for the team. After the last interview, I was meant to hear back the following week, but it got pushed back because someone was on PTO. The week after that, I followed up again and was told a meeting happened the day before and I'd hear back soon. It's been over a month and I still haven't heard anything, not even to say the job is no longer available.

A recruiter hit me up about a job with a financial client. They seemed really stoked about my background and thought I'd be a good fit. Asked if I could chat with the client manager. Ended up having a bunch of calls where they kept grilling me about my skills, experience, strengths, weaknesses, you name it. I was like, "Hey, what about the job you originally called about?" They dropped the bomb that it wasn't open anymore. I wasn't thrilled about the other roles they were pushing, but they were persistent. Their pitch was basically to ditch my steady, well-paying contract for a tiny pay bump on a new gig, with the promise they'd find something else if it didn't work out. I passed. Finally, they called about a role I actually liked and said the hiring manager wanted to talk ASAP, like, today. So I did. It went well! The recruiter called back saying I'd get an offer the next day. Score! The offer came, but it was only for a two-month gig. "Would that be a problem?" the recruiter asked. Seriously, don't let these people waste your time.
