I went in earlier that day with my resume and gave it to the manager. He then invited me to join the group interview that night with about 15 other candidates, most of them young. It was mostly trivia-style questions in a group setting, then we did an exercise where we had to learn about the person next to us and then 'sell' them like they were a product. This was probably to check our sales and customer service skills.

Presentation Group

After filling out an online form, I was contacted to do a group interview. The group was about 30 people large. They made us pick an item in the store and do a 30 second pitch to the group. Then they made us pair up and ‘sell’ our partner to the group. After background checks, successful candidates were offered the job by phone and email. It is not a great way to hire staff, but it did provide a good baseline of the kind of people they were looking for.

I went for a group interview at Rebel Sport and it was a great experience! The interview process was relatively easy. It began with all the candidates introducing themselves and then we moved into a group activity. We were split into groups of 3-4 and had to brainstorm ideas relating to the rebel values and then present to the group. We were then asked to find an item in the store and sell it to the group (be prepared to sell an item that you haven't chosen if an item swap is called for!). The interviewers were so lovely at the store I applied which made the interview even better. If you're going for an interview at rebel just be confident and take it easy because it's a great process!

Group Behavioral Other

The hiring process had 2 interviews. The first was a group interview where we did 3 tasks: 1. Ranking valuables in a moon scenario individually and in groups. 2. Sharing basic questions with each other and presenting. 3. Selling an item of choice within the store. The second interview was a normal 1 on 1 with the 2 hiring managers. Standard questions. The communication about the deadline was bad, they said we'd hear back by Tuesday if we got the second interview but called on Friday. Then, they said if we didn't hear back by the next Tuesday, assume we didn't get the job, but called us 3 days after the deadline to say it would take another week. Also, if you didn't get the job, you don't hear back. So the process is slow and a bit poor, but the interviews were fun and I enjoyed myself.
