First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Quickbase.
Social Media Manager
I interviewed twice for a Social Media/PR position and was initially optimistic. The first interview went well — they seemed impressed with my 10+ years of experience. However, what they failed to mention was the CCAT test requirement. Only a few days before my second interview, they suddenly told me I had to complete a 50-question CCAT exam. This test is filled with random math problems, abstract logic puzzles, and strange pattern recognition symbols — none of which have anything to do with running social media strategy, content, or PR. After reviewing the practice test, I declined. It felt unreasonable and irrelevant to the role. I later learned this test is notoriously difficult and widely disliked by job seekers. Requiring it signals a lack of trust in applicants’ actual experience and professional track record. For me, it was a dealbreaker. Adding to my concerns: the hiring manager had only been with Quickbase for 11 weeks, which raised red flags about turnover and internal stability. Ultimately, I was interviewed one other time, so 2 interviews total. But was not selected for the third round and I'm so glad I wasn't selected. I dodged a bullet. If you’re considering a role here, be aware of their reliance on outdated, irrelevant testing methods. Experience, skills, and proven results should matter more than arbitrary puzzle exams.
- Can you introduce yourself and discuss your background and experience?
Office Manager
I went through two rounds of interviews and then heard nothing back. I sent a couple follow-up emails, first to thank them for the interview, and then again to ask if they were still hiring for the role after I hadn't received a response. It's only professional courtesy to inform a candidate if they aren't selected, especially when communication has been ongoing for weeks.
- Can you tell me about one of your most significant strengths?
Marketing Analyst
It was a decent experience overall, the interviews felt like they were actually checking my fit for the job, not playing games. But then, they gave me a take-home assignment for the final round (I spent my whole weekend on it because they wanted to do the final panel interview early the next week) and then just ghosted me. I only found out later, much later, that I got a rejection email that went to my spam because it was a generic one. Considering I rearranged my week for four interviews on short notice, I found it pretty disrespectful to not even let me do the final presentation I worked hard on, or at least send a personalized rejection.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized specific programs relevant to the job description?
Technical Support Engineer
The whole interview process took about 2 months and had a lot of rounds with many people. I could tell there were other candidates still in the running for the final stages because the next steps were delayed. This means they were probably waiting for other candidates' responses or for the employees to interview them. I think this is a great company with a strong foundation. Even though I was bummed about not getting the job, I respect their decision and hope they do well with the person they chose. Something I noticed is that I don't think the interviewers knew who had spoken to me before or who would speak to me next, or what questions had already been asked. To avoid bias, it would have been better to have a group session with multiple interviewers instead of one-on-one. Overall, it was a good experience and I learned a lot.
- Can you share some examples of times you dealt with customers who were unhappy with the service you provided?
