It was an online interview where they asked questions about my experience and why I wanted to work there. I also had to do a presentation about systems engineering. They asked questions like, 'In a project, what is the most important thing to establish with a client?' like requirements and stuff. Also asked what I knew about the company and why I applied.

It was a pretty standard interview process with two rounds. First, I spoke with an HR person on the phone. Then, I had a video call with the hiring manager. They asked me both technical and behavioural questions, and I used the STAR method to answer them. I was actually approved for an offer, but unfortunately, the client stopped funding the position, so it didn't move forward.

Interviewed by a panel of 3 senior engineers from the company. They asked a bunch of technical questions about engineering, focusing on fluid mechanics and hydrodynamics, which is what the company does. Depending on how I answered, we'd get into more discussion. It was a cool interview that led to good conversations, but you really had to know your stuff technically. They also asked some non-technical questions about soft skills, like business development strategy, project management, and leadership.

The interviewers were pretty professional and nice, they seemed to want to help. But I'm just not good at interviews. I messed up the easy questions. About a week after, I had another interview and got an offer to do pretty much the same job. I later heard from the recruiter that the position was no longer funded and they didn't reach out because they were trying to change direction. I'm actually glad it worked out this way. I guess the takeaway is that you don't really know what the interviewers are thinking. Don't let it get you down, just keep looking.
