It started with a quick cold call on the phone where we went over my resume, skills, and reasons for leaving. Then, I had a Teams call with the Program Manager. We did more small talk and then some basic technical questions. They seemed to get the technical stuff but weren't super deep into it. About two weeks later, they asked me to come in person. This meeting included the Technical Lead, Program Manager, and Department Manager. They reviewed my resume line by line. When the Technical Lead asked questions, they wanted very detailed answers. The Department Manager was more interested in processes like Jira, Agile, and other production-related topics. The Program Manager mostly listened but would jump in to stop answered questions.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had a good first interview and they wanted to interview me with other team members next. The recruiter was supposed to set it up. After a few weeks, I hadn't heard anything so I reached out. The recruiter said the team was swamped with a proposal and would resume interviews after it was submitted. A couple more weeks passed and I got an automated rejection email. No direct contact. The recruiter mentioned he'd ask for feedback from the interviewer but I never heard back. The interview itself was nice but the lack of follow up and communication was disappointing and not what I'd expect from a company this size.

I applied for the Administrative Assistant role. The company is well-regarded and handles major infrastructure projects. I liked the multicultural setting and working with diverse people. HR was clear and organized in the first interviews. But, the title 'Administrative Assistant' wasn't quite right, as the job was more like a receptionist (about 30% front desk work). The salary offer was also much lower than I expected, especially given the local market and the work involved. When I tried to negotiate, they just sent a rejection email. They didn't really explain the job duties well, and it felt like they weren't sure about the position themselves. They should be more upfront about what the job actually entails compared to the title. Their pay should match the work and experience. And they need to follow up better after interviews.

Technical Coding

My technical interview covered a bunch of Python stuff. They really wanted to see if I knew how to make and use functions well, like understanding parameters, what they return, and scope. Also, I got tested on how well I could use and change basic data structures like lists, dictionaries, sets, and tuples. The questions were about using these structures to solve problems, like making things faster, handling complicated issues, and writing code that's easy to reuse and looks good. Basically, it was all about real coding skills, thinking hard, and using Python basics for practical stuff.
