Full Stack Developer
I had a 1-hour interview with the hiring manager and a senior tech. It was mostly standard behavioral questions and some tech questions about the take-home assignment. They ghosted me after the interview even though I followed up a couple of times. It was disappointing to see that from a government entity.
- Tell me about a time you had conflicts with coworkers.
- What mistakes have you made at a job?
- Can you elaborate on your approach to the take-home assignment?
Environmental Chemical and Safety Technician
There were two parts to the interview process: a one-on-one phone call with the hiring manager and then an in-person interview with the team. OPG is a well-known company, but they should also be mindful of the time candidates invest. The interview process was quite lengthy, lasting over an hour. Unfortunately, the hiring manager never followed up and just ghosted.
- Can you describe how you handle stressful situations?
- What's your approach to dealing with challenging individuals?
- Describe a situation where you had to fix a problem without any assistance.
Intern
Applied directly to an interview, which then led to an offer. The interview was conducted over Teams. Two senior team members were present. They decide which team you would be the best fit for and you interview with that team. It was about five behavioral and two technical questions. The interviewers made me feel comfortable and we could joke around. They introduced themselves very politely. This might differ with other interviewers.
- Can you explain how OPG assets generate power?
- Which programming language do you have the most proficiency in?
- Describe a situation where you implemented a new process. What metrics were utilized to assess its effectiveness?
Customer Service Representative
The hiring process moved pretty quickly at first. I applied and got scheduled for an HR interview the very next day, which was just a short 15-minute call and felt pretty easy. The day after that, I had the second interview with the directors. This one was longer and a bit intense, but they made the atmosphere really comfortable, so it felt more like a casual chat. It took them a bit over two weeks to let me know I didn't get the job.
- Could you share an example of a successful resolution you achieved?
- How did you manage a problem that arose during your work?
- Can you discuss your familiarity with the tools necessary for this role?
