First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oceaneering International.
Quality Engineer Intern
The company reached out via email. The interview was a video call with 3 engineers. It was relaxed and mostly guided by me asking questions about their roles and the company. They didn't respond with a rejection, so I followed up with the engineer a few weeks later to confirm the rejection. The work environment seemed friendly, and they were happy to share their experiences.
- What motivated your interest in quality engineering?
Human Resources Business Partner
This interview process was really drawn out. It started with one call, then a video interview, followed by a lengthy 3-4 hour in-person session that included a tour. It took multiple calls and emails over two weeks to finally get a rejection email, which left me feeling like my time wasn't valued. During the in-person part, I talked to about six people, and four of them didn't even know what job I was interviewing for. The whole thing felt long and disorganized.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage conflict with a coworker?
Engineer
It took a long time to get a response after applying. First, there was a phone screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, and then another interview with a different manager. The interviewers were pretty chill. They gave a good overview of the company, but didn't really go into much detail about the specifics of the position.
- How well do you collaborate with team members?
- What's your experience with projects like this?
- Are you comfortable managing various tasks?
Commercial Manager
The interview itself was straight forward, with only 10 questions and they weren't too difficult. I was made to feel comfortable. Both Interviewers were also polite and considerate. The experience of the interview itself was positive. However, I never heard back from the company, despite contacting them on 3 occasions. Was told the first time that they were still interviewing candidates, but also saw the advert go back up online 3 times over the next 3 weeks from when I was interviewed. Contacted them another 2 times just for confirmation I was unsuccessful and still no response. Very disappointing from a large organisation such as this.
