First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oakley.
Data Engineer
They gave me a call, asked me a couple questions about what they do, what kind of job I would be doing, so on so forth. After that they told me to wait for their response, which came a couple days later saying that I wasn't selected.
- Did you have global experience?
Designer
I went through the HR process, everything was great, they really liked me and I was one of the standout candidates. When it came time for the interview with the product manager, it was scheduled by email, and she canceled it. I then asked HR about rescheduling. To my surprise, the manager said she had worked with me before, that I was a fashion designer and not a textile designer, and therefore should be disqualified. It was a huge absurdity because I had never worked with such a person and my entire career and experience fit the role. The super friendly HR person didn't even know what to say to me because it was so strange.
- Can you describe your academic and work history?
Store Manager
It was a three month long process with 4 stages. I first got a rejection, then a week later I got a verbal offer. Then they asked me to do a two day trial in the store. After that, they disappeared for a week and then told me the store manager position was on hold due to renovation delays at the Covent Garden store. This was actually due to salary issues, as the final offer was 3K less than what they initially promised, even though they asked about my salary expectations. The whole process, starting with the internal recruiter, was unprofessional and sketchy. It was a really bad experience.
- Can you discuss your past roles and your knowledge of KPIs?
Mechanical Engineering Intern
It was a really chill conversation about my background and why I wanted this specific role. The person interviewing me was super nice! We also chatted about what I like to do for fun and my engineering aspirations.
- Can you share what your hobbies and interests are?
- What makes you interested in this position?
- Could you elaborate on your past experiences?
