First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nedbank.
Property Finance Analyst
The interview process was quite extensive, involving multiple stages from initial recruiter contact through to an offer. Throughout the process, I interacted with individuals ranging from principles to executives, and they were all very pleasant. The questioning covered a blend of technical, behavioral, and personal inquiries, with a strong emphasis on industry-specific topics.
- Regarding a property scenario set in the Joburg CBD, what strategies would you employ to enhance it and develop it into the next Cape Town?
Quantitative Analyst
I went through a few rounds for a senior quantitative analyst role at Nedbank. It kicked off with a recruiter chat, then there were 2 assessments and 2 technical/behavioral interviews with team members. The last part was a chat with the Hiring Manager, head of department, and managers. Communication was okay, and they said I'd know in 2 weeks. But after following up, they just kept saying they're finalizing and never got back to me. I was ghosted at the final stage, no rejection or update, just silence.
- Describe a situation where you dealt with a challenging stakeholder and how you managed it.
Specialist
A week after the application closing date, I received an email with a link to upload necessary documents to the online job portal. The following week, a virtual interview was scheduled and completed. My online portal status then updated to 'interview'. After that, there was radio silence. I reached out to HR four weeks after the interview but got no reply. Seven weeks post-interview, I checked the portal and saw the status had changed to 'requisition closed'. I haven't received any email or communication from HR since.
- Can you discuss your past work experiences as they pertain to the role you're interviewing for?
Chief Operating Officer
I was headhunter for a COO role. I completed three rounds of interviews, psychometric, risk assessments and background checks. Was sent a case study to prepare for the final interview, I prepared and the day before the interview called the recruiter to confirm logistics and was told the interview was postponed due to an internal process and they would call back with a new date. They never called back and I saw someone announce via LinkedIn that they were appointed. They just ghosted
- Can you describe your experience with managing clients or customers?
