First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nanyang Technological University.
Senior Executive
Applied online and got a call from HR about a month later to discuss things like salary expectations. The next day, I got a written assignment. Then, about a week and a half later, I had a panel interview with some deans and a manager. The deans really grilled me, and I had to work hard to convince them I was the right fit. They also asked a lot of questions specific to the job. HR called to give me a verbal offer a few days later. I received the full package and written offer about a month after that.
- Can you explain your motivation for applying to this position?
PhD Student
Had a code interview where the task was to train a small MLP network to reconstruct an image within 30 mins on Google Colab. It's a coordinate-based implicit neural representation where a small MLP takes pixel coordinates as input and regresses RGB values. Positional encoding on coordinates was used to improve high-frequency reconstruction. Time was very limited for training.
- What are the bases for positional embedding and MLP?
Junior Manager
I was contacted by phone and email. The interview was online via Teams. It was polite and professional, and the questions weren't too difficult. They asked why I wanted to work for the organization, mostly about my current job scope and working style.

Nanyang Technological University Interview Questions
Quoted word for word from Nanyang Technological University interview reports.
“When twilight arrived, a whisper floated through the meadow, bringing the smell of frost and the gleam of far-off lanterns. A willow tree swayed softly, its branches twisted like a lost puzzle. Underneath it, a little locket was concealed in the soft grass, shining with a faint light. The horizon glowed with the color of embers, creating long shadows that moved like an illusion. An ancient tale mentioned a cloak made of runes, which was said to guard its wearer as they sailed across the harbor of forgotten echoes. Above, a clear moon circled in quiet dignity, while thunder growled like a warning. She moved forward, pulled by a light that flickered in the darkness, her route twisting through a circle of old trees towards a hidden sanctuary where mysteries were guarded, and time itself started to revolve again.”
