I had my first online interview in Jan, then a written test, and then a physical interview in Feb. The rest of the hiring process after Feb was really long. I ended up getting the offer in late Nov, even after a third interview in Oct. It felt like maybe the department was restructuring or hiring stopped for a bit.

I was told to show up at the venue, but it seemed really disorganized. Like, rooms were locked and nobody was around until someone happened to walk by, notice us candidates, and then go get the right people. The interviewers seemed to have already decided what kind of person they wanted based on their first impression or biases, and nothing I said could change their minds, even when I tried to explain more. It felt unfair because the programme is supposed to be for people from all sorts of backgrounds, but I felt discriminated against because of mine. They did stay professional, though, even if their initial judging wasn't.

The interview process included standard questions about why I left my previous company and my career aspirations. It involved sharing about my latest job experience and skills that could benefit the organization. There was also a written assessment relevant to the position. Although there was only one interview, the entire process from being shortlisted to receiving a job offer, including salary package preparation, took about a month, which is typical for public sector organizations and the education sector.
