First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Myriad Genetics.
Clinical Laboratory Manager
It was a pretty good experience overall, everyone was super nice. The interview itself was quite long, around 3.5 hours, and I met with multiple people individually. However, I never heard back afterwards, not even a rejection, which was a bummer. It felt like they really wanted to fill the position quickly, but the communication wasn't great. There was also some confusion with the recruiter about when hiring would happen, they said not until the new year, but the interviews were happening now.
- Mostly covered standard behavioral questions.
- Some questions felt like they were more for internal people.
Account Executive
I had a great experience at first, with a smooth HR screen and an engaging interview with the hiring manager. I was really into Myriad's mission and thought the role was a perfect fit. Sadly, due to a major family tragedy (my mother passed away), I had to ask to reschedule my next interview. Both HR and the hiring manager were initially understanding, which I appreciated at the time. Once my personal matters were sorted, I reached out multiple times, professionally, to get back in touch and move forward. But I never heard back from anyone. Weeks later, I saw the job was posted again, and my profile now says "no longer being considered." No email, no communication, nothing. Basic courtesy and follow-up are expected, especially after investing time and effort in interviews. If a company doesn't show this during hiring, it makes you wonder about how they treat employees. I was genuinely drawn to Myriad's mission and culture, so this was a letdown. Based on my experience and other reviews, I'd suggest applicants go in with realistic expectations about communication and transparency.
- How would you approach gaining access to providers who are difficult to reach?
Account Executive
So, the whole interview thing was pretty good. It kicked off with a quick call from the recruiter, then I had a video chat with the hiring manager. The final step was an in-person interview with a panel. I honestly thought I was gonna get an offer pretty soon after that. It was July then, and since then, crickets. I’ve emailed them a bunch, like, multiple times to both the recruiter and the manager, but nothing. I get that not everyone gets the job, but a heads-up would've been nice, especially since I drove 8 hours roundtrip for that last interview. I really liked the company and the manager seemed awesome, but this silence has kinda soured things. So yeah, if you're an AE looking at Myriad, keep searching. Seems like their recruiting team has a pattern of ghosting people.
- Can you share a time when you surpassed a sales goal?
Inside Sales Representative
I went through 3 interviews for this role. It started with an initial phone screening. After that, there was a panel interview which included a presentation and a role-play scenario. Then, I had another interview with the director, which also involved a role-play scenario. They mentioned I'd hear back within a week, but I never did. I had to reach out to them, and still no response. I even emailed them two weeks later, and they ghosted me completely. There was no follow-up at all. They weren't upfront about what to expect next in the process, and it was really unprofessional to ghost someone after three interviews and after I'd prepared a presentation and practiced for role-play scenarios.
- Could you do a role-play of calling a potential client?
