First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Myriad Genetics.
Lab Technician
Applied online via their site and Indeed. Had some back and forth emails with a recruiter. They asked for a screenshot of a typing test. Then I went in for an in-person interview. Got a quick tour of the lab and then sat down in a small conference room with two lab supervisors. One was nice, the other was really cold.
- What traits do you look for in a boss?
- What kinds of personalities do you find difficult to work with?
- What about Myriad caught your eye?
Lab Technician
They sent me the "phone screen" questions first, and after that, I got to interview with the hiring manager. The phone screen was pretty standard, just checking if I was still interested and asking about my pay expectations. It was a short interview, and then they showed me around the lab. Mostly basic questions.
- What qualities define a good manager, and what qualities define a bad one?
Equipment Technician
I got past the first interview. Then I interviewed with the Maintenance Manager and a Lead Engineer from the equipment team. They got back to me the next week, telling me they hired someone else and the role was filled. They were super professional and nice about it.
- Could you describe your background in troubleshooting electromechanical issues?
