We were taken to a room with about 15 other people who were also applying, and there was a presentation. They had each of us read a slide, and then they asked us some questions about our work experience and why we wanted to work there. They also asked what Christmas means to us. After that, they had us do a roleplay where we pretended to sell an item with each other, like we were actually working there.

  • What makes you want to work in this position?
  • What does Christmas mean to you personally?

This was a group interview. We had to explain why we wanted to work in retail and why it's meaningful. Then there was an acting scenario. We were given a situation like a customer needing a gift for their nephew and niece, and we had to help them using products provided. Another interviewee played the customer. The interviewers were nice. We also had to give our availability and department preference.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you roleplay a scenario where you assist a customer in making a purchase?
  • Given a scenario where a customer is looking for a gift for their nephew and niece, how would you assist them by selecting and explaining products?

After waiting a week to schedule, I had an interview for this role. The manager I spoke with seemed impressed with my experience despite ranting and interrupting me multiple times. Two weeks later, I interviewed with Dior, which went well. However, after waiting two months for a response (which I was promised), I heard nothing. I emailed twice with no reply. While I'm okay with not getting the offer, I'm disappointed by the lack of communication, especially since I expressed my strong interest and need for a response.

  • Do you think you'll be a good fit for the role?
  • Are you able to apply makeup?

  • What is your understanding of the company?
  • The interviewer asked everyone questions about the company and selected individuals who raised their hands to respond.
