First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MUJI.
Sales Associate
It was a pretty easy process for a basic sales associate role. The first step was a 15-minute phone screening with general questions. After that, there was a 30-minute in-person interview, also with general questions. Those were the only two interviews. Make sure you know the products well and have at least one product that is your favourite.
- What makes you want to join Muji?
- Tell me about a product you really like.
- How well do you know our products?
Management Trainee
We had a group interview where there were five of us in the group. We started by introducing ourselves, and then we had a group discussion. Following the discussion, there was a Q&A session where we were asked about our group's position.
- Could you please introduce yourself?
Sales Assistant
The hiring manager reached out directly and asked me to come in for an interview, skipping the usual phone screen. It was a one-on-one meeting with the manager. The questions weren't too tough. Since my English isn't the best, they asked how I'd handle a situation where a client said something I didn't quite catch.
- Could you tell me about your weaknesses?
- What led to your departure from your previous role?
- What were your reasons for leaving?
Retail Assistant
The hiring process was really quick. I applied through a Google Form and got a WhatsApp message the next day to schedule an interview. They asked some basic questions and the interview was under 20 minutes. I got an offer right away, probably because they were short-staffed and needed someone urgently.
- What do you know about MUJI?
- Tell me about yourself and your motivation for working here.
