The interview process kicked off with a screening call where the recruiter was very knowledgeable about the role and its duties. Then, I had an interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was a focused round comprising three 30-minute interviews with peers from different departments. The process concluded with a take-home assignment.

I had an interview for a finance analyst role at movable ink. I first had a video call with the talent specialist, which was a quick 5min screening and went well. She then mentioned I would receive an assessment to do at home. However, I never heard back and didn't get the assessment, even after emailing to express my continued interest and readiness. About 3 weeks later, I got an automated notification that the role had been filled. I found their handling of the process unprofessional.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was okay, but it was way too long. It felt like a never-ending marathon or a presidential campaign. As someone who studied HR, I was surprised by how exclusive they made it, with 7 stages, which isn't ideal. Communication seemed siloed between interviewers, which was a red flag. HR gave interview themes, but not everyone followed them. Some feedback was given during the interview, but the response from senior management when I answered their question honestly revealed their culture, and it wasn't great. It felt like a bully/blame culture. When I asked about a day in the role, it seemed like onboarding wasn't a strong area and the workplace might be chaotic, especially since they mentioned all training materials used to be on Slack. Red flags kept popping up that matched negative reviews, so be cautious when applying.

I applied online and the whole thing took about 2 months. It started with a recruiter screening, then a hiring manager chat. After that, I got a take-home assignment, followed by a technical round with general questions and a review of the assignment. Surprisingly, there was also a behavioral interview that wasn't mentioned upfront. Two weeks later, I spoke with the VP of Engineering. They seemed to like me, but since then, it's been 2 months with no word, even after I followed up. They totally ghosted me, which was a huge waste of my time and really unprofessional not to give me any feedback.
