It was 5 rounds in total. I got through the first 2 rounds but was rejected after the 3rd. The job description said they were open to any technology, but preferred Python. I'm a Go and Node.js developer. I did use Python to code a CLI game, but they said they needed someone with a Python background, which seemed contradictory to the JD.

I applied online and then an HR person emailed me. We had a quick 15-min video call to chat about my experience. The very next day, I got an email saying I was rejected, but they didn't say why. I asked for feedback but didn't hear back. I still feel like I'm the right person for the job given what they asked for.

I applied for the position online and was contacted by a recruiter. We discussed my background and the role's expectations. He shared his own career path and why he enjoys working at Movable Ink. Following our conversation, I received an email to schedule an in-person interview. Upon arrival, the recruiter met me and then I proceeded to a technical interview with the VP. This interview involved casual conversation and pair programming on a small project. I was then invited back to meet the team and complete additional exercises. After more handshakes and discussions, the interview concluded, and the recruiter walked me out. We talked more about the company culture and I asked any remaining questions. I had other job offers at the time and shared this with the recruiter, who offered helpful advice on making my decision. He gave me the space I needed to consider my options. Ultimately, I accepted the offer from Movable Ink. I appreciated the challenging and relevant technical interview, meeting the team, and the recruiter's availability and support when I had offers from other companies. The managers showed a great level of care throughout the process.
