First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Morgan Lewis.
Business Development Manager
I heard back from a recruiter named Laura soon after I applied online, and she was my main contact for the whole thing. I'm happy to say she made this one of the best Biglaw interview processes I went through this time around. Unlike many other firm contacts, Laura was really nice, got back to me quickly, and made sure my application was seriously looked at for not just the job I applied for, but another one I hadn't seen but was also into. Even though I ended up taking a job offer somewhere else before getting to the final steps here, Morgan Lewis was definitely a top choice, and I'd suggest talking to them if you're looking for a Biglaw place that feels more personal and friendly. I'm also happy to share that the leaders I met in the Litigation BD Department were just as great, and I bet they're a fantastic team to work with!
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?

Associate
The interview process is about two hours long, and it involves talking to several different lawyers. It looks like each lawyer has their own set of questions, covering things like personality, your background, and what you expect from the role. Everyone seems pretty nice, and they're really trying to see if you'd be a good fit for their team, and also if the team is a good fit for you.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered uncertainty in legal matters and describe your approach to handling it?
Legal Assistant
The interview process went smoothly. The HR representative was knowledgeable and responsive, providing quick and clear communication. They were also very transparent about the role. However, a partner was 45 minutes late for the interview. The HR person did a great job describing the position. I wish I had more details about the job and its duties before the interview, though.
- Tell me about your skills in prioritizing, organizing, and proofreading.
Summer Vacation Scheme Interview
The interview process started with a really quick and easy phone call with the Graduate Recruitment team, mainly asking about why I wanted to apply to Morgan Lewis and some general competency stuff. After that, I had the final partner interview, which began with questions about my past experiences, my reasons for wanting to go into commercial law, and specifically "Why Morgan Lewis." They also threw in some hypothetical ethical and client-related scenarios about being a solicitor.
- Would you consider lying to be acceptable?
- What makes you want to work for Morgan Lewis?
