First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mizuho Financial Group.
Global Markets Analyst
We started with an application, then there was an online test on Arctic Shores. After that, a pre-recorded interview with two questions about your fit and recent market news. Then, an HR interview which was just a preliminary stage before the assessment centre. Finally, the assessment centre itself, which included a group task, a presentation, and a technical interview.
- How likely is it that you would encounter an employee from Mizuho in a typical London coffee shop?
Investment Banking Analyst
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with one behavioral interview and one technical interview, and then moved on to the superday. The superday itself had 3 separate interviews, which were mostly behavioral. They weren't too heavy on technical questions, but you definitely needed to know energy markets well.
- Can you tell me about a recent M&A transaction you've been following?
Project Coordinator
There were two rounds of interviews. The first was a virtual meeting with the Senior Project Manager, and the second was a face-to-face interview with the Delivery Head. They asked me Project Management questions, including presenting a scenario and asking how I would manage the situation.
- How would you manage disagreements with cross-functional teams during a project?
- How would you handle a given project scenario?
Quantitative Risk Analyst
Since I had interviewed with them before, I bypassed the initial HR screening. The first technical interview was with the hiring manager. Following that, I had a conversational round with a team member, mostly discussing the job duties. A senior executive then interviewed me, focusing on my background and resume. The entire process spanned three months, starting in late January. I didn't hear back for five weeks after my initial round. Even after completing all interviews, I wasn't told if I got the job. I had to keep asking for updates, and HR kept saying the team was still deciding. Eventually, I found out the position was put on hold.
- Can you describe how you would plot the discount curve within a DCF model?
- What components make up the put-call parity relationship?
- Could you explain the Black-Scholes Model?
