I applied directly and asked to reschedule my interview because something came up, but I didn't get a response. Thankfully, I was able to make the screening happen. The recruiter asked me some basic questions about my background and explained the interview process. They mentioned they'd schedule a call with the hiring manager for the next week, as the manager was out of office. After a few days with no word, I followed up and was informed they had moved on with other candidates. Later, my email about not being able to make the original interview time was acknowledged after the call, and they thanked me for joining anyway. It felt a bit disorganized.

The first stage was a quick 20-minute chat with a recruiter to go over your resume and your interest in MarketAxess. No technical stuff. The second stage was about a 30-minute video call with someone from the team, pretty much the same as the first, just talking about your background. No technical questions there either. Then, the third stage involved three back-to-back 30-minute video interviews with team members. They asked about your experience and then threw in one or two technical questions related to database structures and queries. The final stage, the fourth one, is an in-person superday.

I had my first chat with the team lead, where we covered some basic behavioral stuff and some general machine learning topics. Then, there was another round with some of the other team folks where they asked me some SQL and Python questions. It wasn't too tough, mostly dealing with aggregations and cleaning up data.

The first step involved two 30-minute interviews with members of the product team. These interviews were pretty laid-back, mostly focusing on your background, your reasons for wanting this role, and your interest in MarketAxess. It's a good idea to research the company beforehand and be ready to discuss how MarketAxess stands out compared to competitors like Tradeweb. If you made it through this initial stage, the next step would have been two more 30-minute interviews with a senior person, like the head of product. I actually got another offer, so I didn't go through with the final interviews. MarketAxess seems like a really great company, by the way. Best of luck!
