& Process

There were 3 rounds in the interview. The rounds covered DSA, and Programming in Java with OOP, Collections Framework, and Streams. Also covered C#, JavaScript - Async Code, Thread Pool, Async-await, Callback functions, Promises, Modules, Import Export, DOM, JavaScript Sorting Algorithm, and JavaScript Searching Algorithm.

I applied for a new role at Magic Leap and heard back from the recruiter really fast. They were great at setting up the interviews and keeping me in the loop. It started with a good chat with the hiring manager. Then, I had technical interviews with the team's engineers. They were upfront about the company's stability. I didn't get the job in the end. The questions were pretty standard, nothing too out there. Since Magic Leap makes headsets, they probably want someone with experience in that specific area. It was a decent experience overall, and I hope they post more roles soon.

It was long and suffering. The technical interview was OK and the 'test' wasn't too hard. In the end they took way too long, said it was between me and one other person. Didn't give ANY feedback why the other person was chosen. In the end it was probably best for everyone.

Interviews overall were fine. Fair questions and I felt the team was actively engaged. Despite a few reschedulings (it was right around the holidays and people needed to move things around), the scheduling was easy. However, after interviewing with 4 team members and the initial phone screening with the recruiter, I heard nothing back at all. I'm not one to harp on companies not getting back to every candidate that applies to a position, that's not always realistic. However, when one takes over 5 hours out of their work schedule to interview (not to mention the prep time), it's incredibly unprofessional not to send a simple "we are going in a different direction" email (I still have no idea if that's what they decided, I received no correspondence at all). 2 weeks after my final interview, I reached out to the 2 recruiters I had been working with on scheduling. No response. I then sent another follow-up 2 weeks after that - again, no response. Finally, 2 weeks after that (6 weeks after my final round), I reached out to the hiring manager to try to get any information. Received no response from anyone. Never seen that level of unprofessionalism. An email like I mentioned above takes about 12 seconds to write... just let your candidates know.
