I had a phone interview in mid-December and they said I would hear back. It's now mid-January, so it's been a full month, and I still haven't heard anything. The least they could do is let me know I'm not the right fit. Ghosting after an interview is a bad look and shows they don't respect candidates' time.

I applied for a Customer Support Associate job, but it turned out to be an onboarding position evaluation, which the director confirmed. The interview process was a bit strange. It started with a standard initial screener. Then, I had an interview with the director, which is usually where you'd meet a team lead or manager. This felt more like a chat about team dynamics than an actual evaluation. The director was upfront about the company being fast-paced, disorganized, and having messy processes, warning that not everyone lasts because of the internal chaos. The last interview was a Topgrading interview with a VP, and the person who did the initial screener was also there to take notes. This part involved asking for very detailed memories of my academic performance and job history, going all the way back to high school. They even asked speculative questions about what former colleagues might say about my performance from almost ten years ago. For a customer support role, even one focused on onboarding, the whole process seemed overly intense and rigid. Although the interviewers were polite, the format didn't allow for much discussion about the actual job duties, how the team works, or what success looks like. A lot of the talk was about past details instead of evaluating skills relevant to the role advertised... or, in my case, the role I was actually being interviewed for.

The process started with a recruiter call, followed by a presentation to the hiring manager and a consultant in round 2. The final round involved interviews with the hiring manager and a team member. The whole process was a bit lengthy, probably because some people were on leave and it was around the holidays, but they kept me updated throughout. The team was super nice and pleasant to talk to, which makes me think they have a good culture that the People team is fostering. I didn't get an offer, I guess they thought I might be overqualified, but that's how it goes!

I had two interviews, a phone screen and then one with two directors. During the first interview, I talked about my student teaching and daycare volunteering. The recruiter asked me to send an updated resume quickly with those experiences, which I did, and he said it was important for the team to see. But in the second interview, the directors hadn't gotten my resume. They didn't ask about my daycare experience, which was weird given what the recruiter said. I also found out it was an inside sales job for existing clients, not what I thought. Everyone was nice, but I wish the resume I spent time on had been passed along.
