First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith.
Attorney
I had an in-person interview where I met with three different partners, each specializing in a different practice area. They asked typical interview questions, focusing mostly on my previous litigation experience. There was also quite a bit of casual conversation mixed in between the questions.
- How comfortable are you taking on cases with little to no supervision?
Legal Assistant
The whole interview process spanned over a month. It kicked off with a recruiter phone call, followed by an in-person written test. Then, I had an interview with one attorney, and the final round was an interview with a group of two other attorneys. I had to chase them for follow-ups after each stage, and it usually took about two weeks to get scheduled for the next interview.
- Can you elaborate on your experience and tell me more about yourself?
Associate
The interview happened over Zoom with two partners. It was mostly a Q&A. I didn't feel tested or judged, it was low stress and easy. This might differ depending on the office though.
- Can you tell me about your experience in specific fields?
- What's your background in insurance defense?
- How have you handled billable hours in your previous roles?
Partner
After the initial screening, the interview process included a very personal interview with one person who ended up being my supervisor. It was a positive interview experience overall.
- Can you share more about yourself and your professional background?
- What led you to apply for this specific role?
- Describe a time you encountered a difficult situation at work and how you managed it.
