First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith.
Legal Assistant
The whole interview process spanned over a month. It kicked off with a recruiter phone call, followed by an in-person written test. Then, I had an interview with one attorney, and the final round was an interview with a group of two other attorneys. I had to chase them for follow-ups after each stage, and it usually took about two weeks to get scheduled for the next interview.
- Can you elaborate on your experience and tell me more about yourself?
Paralegal
I talked to the office manager and felt it went pretty well. I haven't heard back though. I think they're looking for a unicorn, since the job has been up since October 22.
- What makes you want to switch jobs?
Legal Assistant
The interview process was pretty basic. I was not impressed with the interviewer. She didn't even apologize for rescheduling the initial interview. She was also impolite and told me that my 8 years of legal experience meant nothing and that I would have to be taught everything. She was also confused about standard civil litigation and why insurance companies were not involved at some level when the cases involved individuals. She also said that just working with many attorneys does not equate to experience and that she works with 4 attorneys and oversees the legal assistants for her team. It did not seem like she wanted to conduct the interview.
- Did you have any defense experience?
- Could you follow client deadlines?
