First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lane Bryant.
Executive Communications Manager
I had three virtual interviews that were scheduled separately with different people in various offices across the US. One was a phone interview and the other two were web interviews with colleagues and my supervisor.
- How do you handle disagreements and what is your approach to prioritizing tasks?
- Describe how you manage conflicts and how you prioritize your work projects.
Customer Service Representative
I was called in for an interview and was sure to dress nicely to show my styling skills. Was immediately complimented on my outfit. I was asked a series of basic interview questions, and then we went to the sales floor where I was required to pick out three outfits for certain scenarios. If management liked my styling skills, they would hire me. Which they did. It was an easy and fun/interactive interview experience.
- How would you handle an irate customer?
- What outfit would you suggest for a customer needing something for her high school yearbook photo?
- Choose an outfit that fits a given scenario.
Sales Lead
The interview process was pretty straightforward and pleasant. I first met with the Store Manager, K, who was very nice. She then asked me what day would work for a phone interview with the district manager. After that phone interview, instead of being offered the full-time role I applied for, I was offered a part-time position because they felt I didn't have enough "full-time experience." I accepted the part-time role and they agreed to my desired salary. The whole process took about 2-3 days to hear back.
- Tell me about a time you and a supervisor had a conflict. How did you resolve it?
Sales Associate
I thought I was interviewing for a part-time key holder, but it turned out to be just a sales associate role. I had two interviews with two nice managers. However, I felt the store manager blew me off a few times, which was disappointing due to her unprofessionalism in returning calls. She never called back when she said she would, and I had to call multiple times for any info. When I went to pick up a package a week later, she didn't even acknowledge me. Her attitude was rude as a customer and showed me it wasn't worth my time as a potential employee. If she had called back, I might have declined an offer.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
