First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lane Bryant.
Sales Associate
It was a really casual interview. We had a fun group interview with six people in total. It went for about 40 minutes. Everyone got a chance to introduce themselves and listen to the manager. The manager was super nice and chill.
- What motivates your interest in working for Lane Bryant?
Sales Associate
I thought I was interviewing for a part-time key holder, but it turned out to be just a sales associate role. I had two interviews with two nice managers. However, I felt the store manager blew me off a few times, which was disappointing due to her unprofessionalism in returning calls. She never called back when she said she would, and I had to call multiple times for any info. When I went to pick up a package a week later, she didn't even acknowledge me. Her attitude was rude as a customer and showed me it wasn't worth my time as a potential employee. If she had called back, I might have declined an offer.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
Sales Associate
My hiring and interview process was overall quite smooth, however a tad bit lengthy. To begin, there was probably about a month and a half between when I submitted the online application (through the LB website) and when I received a call asking if I would come in for an interview. However, once there it was all a positive experience. The hiring manager was very nice and asked me prepared questions for which she recorded my answers. We then has a pleasant conversation before I left. I really recommend wearing Lane Bryant clothes, if possible. While it isn't necessary for the job or interview I think that it wows and shows that you care about and have some knowledge about the company. Additionally, when dressing: WEAR ACCESSORIES! LB is very big on having 5 items above the waist and statement necklaces. You can't sell it if you don't wear it. Also, if you are asked to put an outfit together during your interview (which I was) definitely include cacique items in your outfit because Cacique is a big part of the company's sales. Finally, just have a smile, relax, be professional, look your best and you'll do great!
- What differentiates LB from its competitors in three ways?
- What is your motivation for wanting to work for Lane Bryant?
- Are you comfortable performing Cacique bra fittings?
