Behavioral Technical Case

It took about a month after applying to finally get a call back. There were four interviews in total. The first one was with the store manager, who seemed pretty relaxed and read questions from a sheet. Most of them were situational, like asking about a tough customer experience. The second interview was with a store manager from a different location. They talked about my background and what the job entails, and I felt like they were mostly checking if my personality fit customer service. The third interview was a phone call with the district manager. She asked more situational questions about my leadership experience and questioned my degree because it's not related to retail, worrying I might leave for a job in my field. She also seemed bothered by me having a second job. She asked about my salary expectations and said they'd pay more than I asked, but didn't specify how much. Then, she explained there'd be a background check and I had to disclose anything upfront or face termination. The last interview was a phone call with the Loss Prevention manager. Questions covered how to prevent theft (they want to hear 'good customer service deters thieves' because it shows you're watching customers) and moral dilemmas about reporting employee theft. I was also asked if I'd ever been suspected of theft and, again, pressed to disclose anything on a background check, emphasizing they could find anything.
