Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lane Bryant.
Store Manager
The interview was pretty standard, mostly focused on leadership scenarios. But honestly, it was a letdown. The interviewer was kind of cold and didn't really connect. The interview setting itself was super uncomfortable. What was really eye-opening was the complete lack of follow-up after the interview. Candidates should always get some kind of follow-up, whether they're moving forward or not. A quick email or call saying thanks for their time but that another applicant was chosen is pretty standard. I guess I should've seen the lack of follow-up coming given how poorly the interview itself went.

Store Manager
The interview was about forty minutes long and focused on how I handle change and motivate my team. They were upfront about potential opportunities within the store. They wanted to understand my approach to situations and how I'd drive their '#no Angel' campaign. It was a pretty standard process if you've worked in management before. They got back to me with an offer pretty quickly.
- How do you assess your employees?
- What attracted you to Lane Bryant?
Store Manager
It was a pretty long hiring process, I had to interview with five different people in total. Five interviews were conducted over the phone, and one was in person with the district manager. The questions they asked were typical for retail roles, and the interviewers were serious but friendly. The whole process took a few weeks to complete.
- Can you describe a time you were part of an inspiring group and explain why?
- Share an instance where you disagreed with your supervisor but proposed a better solution.
